Reception at Meynell is a warm, joyful and inspiring place where children begin their school journey with curiosity, confidence and a growing belief in themselves. Our learning environment is rich in exploration, play and discovery, helping every child develop the foundations they need to thrive.
Children learn through stories, early phonics using Read Write Inc., imaginative play, practical activities and meaningful experiences that build language, independence and a positive attitude towards learning. We support pupils to work together, express ideas and build caring, respectful relationships with others.
Our Reception classroom is a nurturing space where effort is celebrated, interests are followed and every child is encouraged to explore, ask questions and take pride in their achievements.
As their first year in school, Reception helps children to aspire, aim high and achieve early milestones, while developing the confidence to believe in themselves and enjoy every moment of their learning adventure.
