We warmly welcome visits throughout the year. Seeing the school in person is often the best way to find our whether it feels right for your child. You'll be able to look around, meet staff, and get a real sense of our community.

Just contact us and we'll arrange a visit at a time that works for you. 

Reception applications open in the Autumn term, usually around mid-September. The deadline to apply is 15th January each year. 

Applying before this date ensures your application is included in the main allocation round.

All applications for Meynell Nursery & Primary School are made through Sheffield City Council. The process is straightforward, and you can apply online through the Sheffield Council website, or contact their admissions team if you'd prefer support.

What if my child has Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

You should still apply through the usual admissions process - unless they have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan. 

If Wisewood is named in your child's EHC plan, they will be offered a place. 

We are an inclusive school and are committed to meeting the needs of every child. 

What if I want to move my child from another school?

If your child is already attending another school, and you'd like them to move to Wisewood, you can apply for an in-year transfer through Sheffield Council.

Families choose to move schools for many reasons, and we're here to support you through the process.

 

If more families apply then we have places available, Sheffield City Council uses their official criteria to decide on how places are allocated. 

We understand how important this decision is, and we want to assure you that the process is fair and follows national guidance.

Once a place has been offered you will be invited to an introductory visit at the school. Your child will also be offered a home visit so that we can get to know them better.
